Beginner lip
blush
Three practical days with models provided. Add one of the most in-demand treatments in the industry.

Lip blush is one of the most requested, and most profitable, treatments in permanent makeup. This course takes you from online pre-study through three full practical days, covering complete lip theory, outlining, and multiple shading techniques for that soft, natural blush finish.
Models are provided for every practical day. You start day two on faux skin to find the depth and pressure, then move onto live models, so the bulk of your hands-on time is on real lips. You complete six full case studies, and leave with a professional kit and machine worth over £700. Everything you need to start offering lips straight away.
Soft, timeless colour that's always in demand, and one of the highest-margin treatments you can offer.
Because a full diary takes more than technique, business training is built into the course at no extra cost: client acquisition, branding, social media and how to stand out in your local market, plus ongoing support afterwards.
It suits complete beginners and qualified permanent makeup artists alike. Finance is available from around £67 per week over twelve months, so you can spread the investment.
How the course runs
Full lip theory before you arrive: skin, colour, healing and contraindications, so your practical days are hands-on from the start.
Outlining and multiple shading techniques worked on live models provided for you, building towards a soft, natural blush finish.
Complete six full case studies with feedback, building the portfolio and confidence to take on paying clients.
Included business training: client acquisition, branding, social media and local-market strategy, so lips become a genuine earner, not just a skill.
Post-course mentoring and support as you take on your first real lip clients, whenever you need a second opinion.
The course in detail
Everything we are asked before someone books. Open any section for the full answer.
Come and watch first, on a free shadow day+
Before you commit to anything, you're welcome to come and observe a treatment with Gemma at the Newton Abbot studio. You watch a full procedure from consultation through to aftercare, see how the room runs, how clients are handled and what the work actually looks like up close. You can ask as many questions as you want, meet your trainer before you book, and get a feel for the environment you'd be working in. Most people find it answers the question they can't answer from a website: whether this is really the career they want. There's no charge and no obligation to book afterwards.
What the pre-study covers before you arrive+
Your online modules open on booking. For lips the theory weighs differently to brows: you spend more time on lip anatomy and the vermilion border, on how undertone and melanin change the healed result, and on colour correction for lips that are naturally cool, uneven or already tattooed. It also covers contraindications, cold sore protocol and prophylactics, consultation and consent, hygiene and blood-borne pathogens. Arriving with that already understood means the three practical days are hands-on rather than theoretical.
What the three practical days hold+
Day one is design and colour: measuring and mapping lip shape, correcting asymmetry, and mixing to a shade that will heal the way the client expects rather than the way it looks wet. Day two is machine work on faux skin and then on live models, building the soft blush wash and learning where to hold back. Day three covers fuller, more defined finishes, border definition and ombré lip, plus managing the nerves that come with a face that swells visibly while you work. All models are provided.
Case studies and certification+
You complete your case study sets in your own space, at home or wherever you plan to practise, and send before, after, healed and topped-up photographs for each. Lips heal more dramatically than brows, so the healed photograph matters more here than anywhere else, and we look hardest at retention and border cleanliness. You get written feedback on every set. Once the standard is consistent you return for your assessment day, and your ABT-accredited certificate follows.
Everything included in your kit+
You leave with a full professional toolkit and carry case, not a starter sample bag. That means your digital machine, a pigment set, cartridge needles in the gauges you've been trained on, mapping tools including callipers, thread and pencils, practice latex, PPE and barrier film, aftercare products to give your first clients, and your printed manual. It's specified so that when you finish your assessment you can take a booking the following week without buying anything else. Consumables are yours to keep and we'll tell you exactly where we reorder ours from, at trade, rather than leaving you to guess.
Why lips are the strongest add-on+
For an artist already doing brows, lip blush is the highest-value service you can add for the least extra chair time. It attracts a different client, it rebooks on a predictable cycle, and it photographs extremely well, which does your marketing for you. Lip treatments commonly sit in the same £300 to £450 band as brows, so a handful a month moves your turnover meaningfully without needing more clients through the door.
Is this course right for you?+
It is designed for complete beginners as well as existing beauty professionals, and no prior machine experience is assumed. Lips demand a steadier hand and a calmer client manner than brows, because the work is more sensitive and the immediate result looks far more alarming than the healed one. If you can hold your nerve, reassure someone well, and work methodically to a plan, this will suit you.
