Advanced lips
course
For qualified artists ready to add lips, two days of theory and live work.

The advanced lips course is for artists who are already machine qualified and want to add lips, or finally make them consistent. Over two days of theory and live work, you'll cover colour selection, lip mapping, border softening, symmetry refinement, and the smooth, blended edges that separate good lips from great ones.
This is hands-on, not a demo you watch from the back. You'll work on a live model with your trainer beside you, correcting pressure, depth and blending in real time.
For artists who already work, this is where lips become effortless, even and repeatable.
We spend time on the problems artists actually hit: patchy retention, harsh borders, uneven colour. You leave able to repeat a beautiful lip, not just achieve one once.
You'll receive a certificate on completion and ongoing support. A kit isn't included, as you'll already be working with your own.
How the course runs
Colour selection and correction for every lip tone, plus mapping for symmetry, the groundwork that makes the rest predictable.
Work on a live model with hands-on correction, applying outlining, shading and blended edges under supervision.
Softening borders and refining symmetry so lips read natural and balanced, not outlined.
Troubleshooting patchy healing and colour retention, so your results hold and your clients rebook.
Certification on completion, plus ongoing mentoring whenever you want a second opinion on your work.

Who this two-day course is for+
This is for artists who are already machine-qualified and taking paying clients, not for beginners. You should be comfortable with your machine, your hygiene protocol and your consultation, and be coming to fix something specific: colour that heals ashy or patchy, borders that blur, shapes that don't suit the face, or simply the confidence to charge properly for lips. If you have never held a machine, the beginner lip blush course is the right starting point instead, and we would rather tell you that now than take your booking.
Colour theory for lips, properly+
Most disappointing lip results are colour decisions, not technique. Two days gives room to work through undertone assessment on real faces, neutralising cool, dusky and hyperpigmented lips, mixing warm correctors without ending up orange, and predicting how a mix will shift as it heals. You'll mix for models in front of you rather than copying a chart, and you'll learn when to refuse a shade a client has asked for and how to have that conversation without losing the booking.
Technique and the healed result+
We work on saturation and even deposit, the difference between a soft blush and a full lip, and how to build density without trauma. You'll practise border work that stays crisp through healing, ombré blending inside the lip, and managing swelling and bleeding so the skin still takes pigment at the end of a long appointment. The emphasis throughout is on what the lip looks like at six weeks, not at the end of the session.
Fixing existing work and top-ups+
A large share of advanced lip work is correcting someone else's. We cover assessing old pigment, deciding between correction, saturation and removal, working over previously tattooed lips, and setting honest expectations on how many sessions a correction will take. You'll also cover top-up scheduling and what to charge for it, which is where a lot of artists quietly lose money.
Live models, provided+
Both days include live model procedures with models provided for you, fully observed, with hands-on correction as you work rather than a critique afterwards. You're welcome to video the demonstrations so you can revisit the technique once you're back in your own room.
What you leave with+
An ABT-accredited advanced lips certificate, written protocols for colour correction and aftercare, and lifetime support: you can send us healed photographs of your own client work whenever you want a second opinion. No kit is included, because you'll already have one, and we would rather not sell you a second machine you don't need.

A few things worth knowing
When are the next dates?+
Three intakes are running: 11-12 November 2026, 28-29 April 2027 and 17-18 November 2027. Each is two practical days, so places go early. Get in touch to hold one.
Who is this for?+
Qualified permanent makeup artists who are already machine trained and want to add lips or make their lip work consistent. It isn't a beginner course.
Is there a live model?+
Yes. You work on a live model provided for you, with hands-on correction throughout, rather than just watching a demonstration.
Is a kit included?+
No. As a qualified artist you'll already have your own machine and kit, so a kit isn't part of this course.
What will I master?+
Colour selection, lip mapping, border softening, symmetry and blended edges, plus the retention fixes that keep your results looking good as they heal.
Is there support after?+
Yes. You receive a certificate on completion and ongoing mentoring, so you're never left to figure out a tricky heal alone.
