Lash enhancement is precise, unforgiving work: colour placed right at the roots to create the illusion of thicker, darker lashes with no visible line. This one focused day is for machine-qualified artists who want to add it, or sharpen it.

You'll work on precise application along the lash line, clean and even saturation, and depth control, including how to work confidently with sensitive or watery eyes, which is where most artists come unstuck.

The lash line is unforgiving. This day is about control, cleanliness and confidence.

It's hands-on with a live model and close correction, so you leave able to deliver a clean, even lash line every time rather than hoping it heals well.

You must already be machine qualified. A certificate and ongoing support are included; a kit isn't, as you'll be working with your own.

How the course runs

01
Theory & anatomy

The eye area, pigment choice and hygiene for lash-line work, the safety and colour groundwork before you pick up a machine.

02
Saturation & depth

Clean, even saturation and precise depth control for colour that sits right at the roots and heals as an invisible enhancement.

03
Live model work

Apply the technique on a live model with hands-on correction, refining placement and evenness across both eyes.

04
Watery eyes

How to work confidently with sensitive or watery eyes, the situations that catch most artists out.

05
Certificate & support

Certification on completion and ongoing support as you add lash enhancement to your service list.

The course in detail

Everything we are asked before someone books. Open any section for the full answer.

Who this one-day course is for+

You must already be machine-qualified and working on clients. Lash enhancement is a small, precise treatment performed millimetres from the eye, so this course assumes you already have steady machine control and a solid hygiene protocol, and builds the specific skill on top. It is the fastest of our advanced courses to recoup, because the treatment is short, priced well and rebooks reliably.

Working safely at the lash line+

The whole day is built around control in a very small margin. We cover eye anatomy and the structures you must not touch, client positioning and eyelid stretch that keeps the surface stable, needle choice and depth for the lash line specifically, and how to work with watering, blinking and genuinely nervous clients. You'll also cover contraindications particular to the eye area and when to decline.

Saturation and depth control+

The difference between a good lash enhancement and an obvious one is deposit: enough pigment to read as natural density, placed between the lashes rather than above them, with no visible line. We work on building saturation in passes, controlling depth so the pigment stays put without trauma, and keeping the finish soft at the outer corner where most enhancements go wrong.

Taking it toward a smokey liner+

Once the lash line itself is solid, we look at diffusing upward into a soft shaded finish for clients who want more than a hidden enhancement. That covers gradient control, keeping symmetry across both eyes when the face isn't symmetrical, and knowing how far to take it for a client who says they want subtle.

Live model and correction+

A live model is provided and you perform a full procedure with Gemma beside you, correcting as you go. The demonstration can be videoed so you can revisit the hand position and angle later, which for this treatment matters more than notes do.

What you leave with+

An ABT-accredited certificate, aftercare protocols specific to the eye area, and lifetime support for when you hit something unusual on a client. No kit is included as you'll be working with your own machine, though we'll tell you which cartridges we use for lash work and where to get them.

What to charge, and how fast it pays back+

Lash enhancement typically sits around £375 in this part of Devon, and the appointment is materially shorter than a brow or lip treatment, so your hourly return is the best of any service on the list. Three clients recovers the course fee. It also pairs naturally with brows: a client already booked for a brow top-up will very often add an enhancement when it is offered in the chair, which is the cheapest booking you will ever make. We cover how to raise it without it sounding like an upsell, and how to schedule the two together.

A few things worth knowing

When are the next dates?+

Three dates are running: 13 November 2026, 30 April 2027 and 19 November 2027. Each is a single focused day, so places go early. Get in touch to hold one.

Who is this for?+

Qualified, machine-trained permanent makeup artists who want to add lash enhancement or refine their technique. It isn't suitable as a first course.

How long is it?+

One focused day, with a live model provided so you get hands-on practice and correction rather than just a demonstration.

How is it different from eyeliner?+

Lash enhancement adds invisible depth right at the roots, no line at all, whereas eyeliner adds a visible, defined line above the lashes. This course focuses on the enhancement technique.

Is a kit included?+

No. As a qualified artist you'll already have your own machine and kit, so a kit isn't part of this course.

What about watery eyes?+

A good part of the day is spent on exactly that, working cleanly and confidently with sensitive or watery eyes, which is where lash-line work most often goes wrong.
