Aftercare Advice

Aftercare is key to the healing of your permanent makeup and must be strictly followed.

Please be aware that this is a 2 STAGE TREATMENT. Your treatment is not deemed complete until you have had both treatments where we can both assess the results.

Your second session should follow within 6-12 weeks. Any treatments after this time are chargeable. As are additional treatments. Permanent Makeup results can change depending on the skin, the client’s lifestyle and health.

If you pick them, you will lose colour and will be liable to pay for an additional treatment (yes, we can tell!)After the procedure.

You may notice whiteness or blanching around the area, this is normal and should subside within a few hours You may get some swelling this is normal and should subside within 2 days In some cases there may be slight bruising, this should last no longer than 1 week.

Remember your colour will be darker and more prominent for 5-7days on average.

Avoid

  • Please avoid getting your brows wet for 10 days after the procedure.

  • Avoid any sauna/swimming/heavy exercise until the area has completely healed.

Key Points

  • As soon as your procedure is finished, your body will start to heal. The skin will close, and you may see a thin crust which will protect the area whilst the skin heals.

  • Once the crust comes off, the pigment will be revealed, in a lighter form than the initially implanted colour.

  • The colour will continue to change and develop until 4-6 weeks. (in some cases up to 3 months)

  • Please be aware you may notice areas of lighter colour or no colour at all, this is very normal part of the healing process and why we have a follow up as part of your treatment.

Eyebrows

  • After the procedure, please keep a cotton round or tissue with you and blot the area every hour, this is to remove any excess lymph that may naturally drain off after the procedure.

  • After 6 hours, wet a cotton pad with clean water and wipe the brows 2-3 times. There may be a yellow staining on the cotton pad this is completely normal.

  • If you have dry skin and are advised by Gemma, after 2-3 days start applying the balm given. A rice size amount across the brow area. PAT into the brow DO NOT rub.

  • Do not pick at scabs

  • Do not tweeze for at least a week, waxing and threading should not take place for at least 2 weeks.

  • Do not apply makeup to the area till fully healed.

Lips

  • Avoid hot/spicy/salty foods for 2-3 days

  • We advise the use of a straw after the procedure.

  • You can apply the balm given (don’t use any other product) as you require post treatment. Apply a thin layer.

  • Lips will be healed in approximately 7 days after the procedure.

Eyeliner

  • After 2-3 hours, wet a cotton pad and give your eyes a wipe. Black staining on the cotton pad is completely normal.

  • If the area becomes dry, Gemma will advise you to use a balm (given).

  • Please change your mascara for hygiene reasons.

  • Do not apply eye makeup for 7 days after the procedure.

Skincare

  • Any skincare products that contain AHAS/ RETINOIDS/ACIDS should not be used near or directly over the area that has been treated.

  • The use of these products not only make the skin compromised when we tattoo, the retention of the colour is reduced with longer use.
